RUDEC appreciates volunteers' generous
spirits and willingness to help. However, because of the grassroots
nature of the organization and the environment in which we work,
RUDEC asks that only volunteers with experience and tangible skills
in the following fields apply. Volunteers serve in consultant-type
roles and are usually not simply handed work to do. It is the
responsibility of the mature volunteer to participate in
comprehensive needs assessments and to work alongisde the RUDEC
Director and field worker to develop, implement, and evaluate
sustainable programs. The Director may ask for academic or
professional references or evidence of certifications upon a
volunteer's application to RUDEC. An ideal minimum age of a volunteer
is 21.
