Serve, Care, Education, Humanity

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: How will I know what my money is being spent on?

A: RUDEC will send you an orphan report every 3 months to show you exactly what your money has been spent on. RUDEC keeps records of all their expenditure and ensures transparency in all their accounts.

Q: Can I sponsor more than one child?

A: Yes, we will be more than happy to accommodate whatever sponsorship you want.

Q: Is there a minimum amount for sponsorship?

A: No, we will be happy to receive whatever amount a sponsor can afford.

Q: Would it be possible for me to visit my sponsored child?

A: Yes, we will be more than happy to accommodate you if you want to visit Belo, RUDEC and your sponsored child. Please contact us for more details.

Q: Will I receive communications on my sponsored child?

A: RUDEC will provide you with updates on how your child is getting on, including updates on their health, education, living situation, education and pictures. If a child wishes to write to you, we will forward this on to you in addition.  However, we can not guarantee letters from your child, because it is not our policy to force a child to write letters to their sponsors.

Q: Why am I transferring into RUDEC’s German bank account?

A: It is RUDEC’s main bank account which is overseen by the director of RUDEC Germany. In addition, we often experience difficulties receiving transactions into our Cameroonian bank account.

Q: What if I want to stop my sponsorship?

A: You simply have to stop your direct debit. However, we ask that you give us at least one month latest notice.

Q: How long does RUDEC support a single child for?

A: RUDEC supports every child until they finished their secondary school education or High school. If one of our children wishes to learn a trade, RUDEC will fund their apprenticeship and set up costs for their initial year of work.

Q: Will RUDEC contact me for any additional costs?

A: If your sponsored child requires emergency funding for situations such as accidents or illness which cannot be covered by the child’s health fund, or irregular items such as mattresses, we may contact you to ask for your help. You should feel free to say no to this help if you can not afford it.
